Indoor Facilities
Indoor Facilities
Our school is a modern purpose built and fully accessible building which was opened when the previous infant and junior schools combined on a new site. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds surrounding the building allowing for Forest School raised beds, a large playground, an adventure play area and trim trail with new log stack and slide, pro shoot, wooden outdoor classroom, outdoor equipment, pitches, and a running track. Adjacent to our school is a Scandinavian style on-site nursery and matching onsite community hub building which the wider community can use for Toddlers, community lunches, drop ins by health and nurture groups.
CLASSROOOMS
We are fortunate to have a modern open plan building with five large, sunny classrooms each with external doors onto our lovely school grounds. The classrooms each have a practical area attached for art work and messy activities, and as an extension to the classes for groups and study. The classes have modern furniture and we are undergoing a rolling programme of upgrading seating and desks each year. There are modern accessible toilets adjacent to the classrooms and spacious purpose built cloakroom areas for storage of children’s coats, PE kit, lunch bags and other possessions during the school day.
ATRIUM
The classrooms open on the inside to our large and airy internal atrium space which is fully ventilated and heated to allow year round access. The atrium space has a modem high glass roof and is used by all the classes for art work, reading, group work, role play, indoor football, music, – a plethora of activity in such a lovely versatile modern space.
LIBRARY AND ICT FACILITIES
We have a purpose built library which has been lovingly decorated with painted book characters by our wonderful artistic parents and which host a huge array of fiction and non fiction books to supplement class libraries. There is also an additional KS1 reading area stocked with picture books in the atrium. We also visit Stow Library regularly and have an “Own Books” book exchange in our entrance foyer. Each class has a smart TV and interactive screen which is used extensively for teaching and learning, along with ten iPads for each classroom and a number of laptops, stand alone computers, head sets and visualisers. This means that the children have ready access to IT equipment in their classrooms when they need it, as well as for the computing lessons.
HALL
We have a beautiful large hall space with a wooden sprung floor, full projector and sound facilities, a full size removable stage and curtains for our school productions, fixed and movable gym equipment including wall bars and free standing equipment and a huge walk in cupboard room full of mats and sports equipment . The hall is also our dining room which is served by our own onsite kitchen. We are pleased that we are able to provide hot cooked meals on site and we also have a breakfast club which runs from our school hall too. We also have an entrance hall which hosts small events such as book sales and our pet therapy dog sessions.
